All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Getting Shawn Nelson in the 4th round makes this an excellent draft for the Bills, even if they don't get an OLB who will be an upgrade over Ellison.
Maybin, Wood, Byrd, Levitre, Nelson.
If you hated the Byrd pick, just switch him with Nelson and this would not look bad at all!
Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. And, thus it was that they surrendered their freedom; not with a bang, but without even a whimper.
I'll admit I was extremely displeased with the Maybin pick yesterday. After sleeping on it, I guess I like it. He has the potential to be decent - better than what we currently have. I like the other 3 picks first day picks, especially now that we got a good tight-end today.
However, I'm still skeptical about this upcoming season.

you always gotta sleep on those picks where you didn't get "your" guy...
Right now for me it comes down to who the tackles will be, and if Maybin develops into an every-down LDE.
Don't expect a franchise turnaround early, or maybe even this year at all. This is a draft for 2010, as most of the Bills' drafts are for a year ahead.
And of course, the true evaluation of any draft can't be made for years.

Good post, I feel the exact same way...
