Excellent work. 4 defensive backs taken.

If it wasn't for the 3 linemen and Shawn Nelson I'd be upset.

On paper, we have to face Moss, Galloway, and Welker on the same team.

Kennard Cox II.

Why take a 9th corner when you could guarantee a big man at DT or a STARTER at FB?

supposedly just came onto the national scene as a return man but also robbed some stuff a few years ago...i dont see him making it past the first round of cuts

The bills want to compile the best possible group of 6 CBs they can.

I notice they are all characterized as zone coverage CBs that tackle really well and are solid in run support.

This is competition for Fox and Corner.

Byrd is a safety not a corner so its really 2 CBs which isn't crazy.

Harris is a LB.

Why even have a 7th rd if it doesnt mean anything?

just read on the BBMB that the Steelers are pissed, they thought they'd get him but we took him

Ok... I understand the people sticking up for the FO because this is a late round, but honestly, there is quality depth to be found at other positions. A.Q. Shipley is still out there, there are plenty of DT's and DE's you can take on a flyer, you can bring in an OT to develop, but to waste picks like that on what is almost guaranteed camp fodder is just... sad.

Not that it means a whole lot but Kiper had Lankster rated a head of Cary Harris.

Not to fond of it but once again it was a BPA pick. We already filled every other need, who cares. Maybe a DL wouldve been better

hes a noted return man.

Maybe the Bills want to push the Steelers toward trading with us for their return man in Parrish.

And Harris was rated as number 7 best CB on other peoples boards. So it turns into a BPA pick.

Right. Because there has never been a 7th rd pick who turned out to be a great player

Maybe not but at this point it's BPA and who's to say Lankster doesn't turn out at CB or at least a returner?

In which case, I wish other teams would start picking DBs too. :ill:

Don't get me wrong, for a 5th round pick there's nothing wrong with being Coy Wire, but I just think that anyone expecting him to be a vast improvement over Ellison if he ends up starting next year should prepare to be disappointed.

Well with that logic Ellison was a 7th round pick. Harris is two rounds a better player.

Plus Coy Wire himself would be an improvement over Ellison.

But Ellison has had a couple of years to develop and has NFL experience.

Look, I don't mind the pick of Harris, but I just don't see anything to get terribly excited about with him. I certainly don't see him making a big difference to the Bills in 2009, though he could do in the future.

Fair point, but again Wire has plenty of NFL experience compared to Harris.

Hell you are right Harris might be worse than Ellison. We won't know for a couple months.

Dujek

I hope he's better than Ellison. I just don't trust our FO enough to accept that that is in fact the case.

Harris has more room to grow and is already bigger than Wire and Ellison. Those guys are on maxed out frames and Harris could easily get to 240 without affecting his speed. He is a sure tackler and a solid coverage guy. I think he is a two down guy now. He needs more polish as linebacker, but I think there is a lot of potential there. Could be a very good linebacker for us. He is instinctive and according to the scouts was at the ball before any other player in the senior bowl.
