This kid is ripped, and his waist is small. IDK how much more he can put on his frame, but he is only 21. He will get bigger naturally.
Now, in the short term: Can Maybin add another 15-20lbs leading up to the season? I would feel better about him keeping his weight up if he started the year at 265. Over the haul of the season he'd prolly drop back to 250-255 range.
But can his frame hold it and retain explosiveness?

he just added 13 or 14 lbs and he's going to be doing NFL workouts in the summer heat during camp. Good luck gaining weight under those conditions.

I really don't see it as a problem. Jason Taylor played lite and had a pretty good career.

Height: 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m) Weight: 244 lb (111 kg)

I figure in time he'll add the pounds on naturally.

You have a point. In this economy, there's a limit to the Grand Slams that Ralph will buy him.

Good point and Taylor is a good comparison as a player!

This weight thing is overated. The concern for me is his lack of experience....

I love the kid ..but i's still concerned...

There are ways to compensate for that OP.
