From WalterFootball.com:
http://walterfootball.com/college/BYU_logo.gif Max Hall, BYU
Height: 6-1. Weight: 201.
Projected 40 Time: 4.73.
Projected Round (2010): 6.
2/4/09: Max Hall had a prolific year for BYU, throwing for 3,957 yards and 35 touchdowns. His completion percentage (69.2) and YPA (8.3) were also outstanding. However, Hall looks like another BYU system quarterback who won't pan out in the NFL.

7/24/08: A transfer from Arizona State and a member of the 2007 All-Mountain West team, Max Hall garnered 3,848 yards, 26 touchdowns and 12 picks as a sophomore. In two games against UCLA (one was the Las Vegas Postseason Exhibition Match), Hall went 51-of-85, 622 yards, four scores and one pick.

Comments:

09/12/09- vs. Tulane- Quick release, good ball velocity. Accuracy isnt great. Very good pocket presence. Find the open guy with ease. Seems very comfortable in the pocket.

12/22/09- vs. Oregon St, MAACO Bowl- Floated a pass along the sidelines. The wind is blowing, but that doesn't sell great arm strength (1st 14:00). Nice 17 yard pass into the wind, on the right side of the WR (1st 7:32). Then follows it up with a floater to the RB, short (1st 7:24). Pass tipped, his short height may make this an issue (1st 7:19). His throws really seem to be lacking velocity, but the wind is blowing pretty hard. A bit off target on a fade pass to the right (1st 5:01). He shows he can move the ball around and move the chains. But, he also is going to the primary target almost every time. Does a nice job moving the ball around. The question though is more about reading defenses since he goes to the primary guy so much (2nd 13:03). Will hang in the pocket and wait for things to open up, doesn't get happy feet. Badly overthrew his WR in the endzone (2nd 10:10). Nicely delivered throw for a 25 yard TD, a bit behind the WR (2nd 6:22). Took to long to decide, sacked, needs to throw the ball away (2nd 1:03). Drilled the ball to Pita for a TD (3rd 8:51). Real nice job finding Tonga for a TD throw to the left (4th 12:51).

Max Hall is a proven play maker with a fiery attitude. His production shows his ability to make short and intermediate range throws in a pass happy offense. He may not have the arm to make every NFL throw. But in the right system, he could flourish. Halls' accuracy is good, not great. Again, it starts to break down the farther he throws. He has a fast release but his motion isn't quite over the top. Max has good pocket presence and can move around to avoid the rush. Like many QB prospects, he didn't show a great deal of ability to go through progressions and read defenses. If he gets drafted in a system that utilizes the shorter game with multiple weapons, he could be a very good QB in the NFL. In the wrong system or even a typical pro-set, he may look sub-par.
