Chiefs' Green gives back to alma mater

So how is Chiefs quarterback Trent Green spending that fat $9.5 million signing-bonus check he got last February?

Well, we hear that part of it is being spent on renovating the football locker room at his alma mater, Indiana University.

The renovation will include new carpeting at the facility, a new ceiling and custom-built oak lockers for 105 players.

No word on exactly how much Green is donating for the cause, but the project is expected to cost more than $250,000.

Green is fourth on Indiana's all-time passing list with 5,400 yards.

Green's wife, Julie, also is an Indiana graduate.

"My wife and I have always wanted to give back to the university," Green told reporters recently. "This is a great way to do it and it's something we both feel strongly about."
