Cornerback Fernando Bryant said yesterday he's given the Jaguars a message.
If they put the franchise tag on him next year, he won't arrive until the first game of the regular season.
"If you're going to franchise me, I'm getting paid for 16 games. If you're not giving me a signing bonus, you're guaranteeing me 16 games so I'm going to live up to my end of the contract," he said.
Bryant said he gave the Jaguars advance notice so they would know his reaction if he gets the franchise tag.
"It's not like it's a surprise, 'I can't believe Fernando did this.' If I tell you this is what I'm going to do and you still allow me to sign the contract, it's really not my fault," he said.
