View Full Version : Reports are surfacing that Linda Bogdan has passed away

The Bills are not saying anything right now, but some other Internet outlets are reporting this, and I was alerted to this posibly being true earlier by another Zone member privately before looking in to it.

I am still trying to see any confirmation myself, but I wouldn't post it if I thought it was a hoax like the last one about Ralph.

Ralph was not at the post draft presser and he always is. I believe this could be the reason.

That is Ralph's Daughter correct?

That is Ralph's Daughter correct?

Yes.

NFL Scout for 22 years.

According to the reports I've heard/read, she was ill with cancer.

Still nothing confirmed, however.

I did some searching... Nothing backs this up but some message boards

I sure hope not. If she did my thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

All I came up with was this...
http://www.reviewatlas.com/archive/x...Linda-M-Wilson (http://www.reviewatlas.com/archive/x141587417/Linda-M-Wilson)
Different Linda Wilson... Although her father's name was Ralph too.

What implications does it have on the future of the Bills?

It was on TBD, and no proof to back it up.

Let's hope it's not true

I agree.

I want to be clear that I am only conveying the report here, not breaking it.

However, that being said, I wouldn't convey it if I didn't have my own reasons to believe it to be true. I have done my own research and made some calls. Although I've had no confirmations, I've also had no denials.

As far as MBs, there's a difference between "some message boards" and certain people posting on those boards. There are some people who are not your Average Joe Poster.

I actually have no problem with moving this thread to spam or even getting rid of it altogether until confirmed, if and when that happens. I was just relaying the info.

That's why Polian got fired. He threw her out of the Draft room when she tried to overrule him on a pick. Not kidding.

Would be a shame if she did, but a rumor is a rumor...

Is this really the case? If so, that is a disgrace. The worst move in Buffalo Bills recent history.

Ralph Wilson’s Daughter Passes
Posted by Mike Florio on April 29, 2009, 6:38 p.m.

Linda Bogdan, the daughter of Bills owner Ralph Wilson and the team’s Vice President/Assistant Director of College and Pro Scouting, has passed away.

According to WIVB, she had been battling cancer.

Bogdan was the only female scout in the NFL, a position she held for 22 years.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ralph Wilson, his family, and the Bills organization.

Just saw the news on NFL.com, very very sad day for the Wilson family.

Thanks Sal for being in depth to know what's going on. My thoughts and prayers, even more than usual, go to Ralph and his family.

Very nice article by Vic on NFL.com, he's been a homer but you can tell this affected him just through his writing

Only female scout, and a great remembrance. RIP ma'am.

I met her once. It was the first time I ever met Ralph. I may not know her very well but this news is just devastating to me. Thoughts and prayers go out from every Bills fan to the Wilson and Bogdan families. This has to be tough for the entire organization. This must be tough for Ralph, he will be accepting his induction to the hall of fame this year and yet it is bound to be one of the saddest times in his long storied life. We joke about his cheap ways and lack of an effort to win, but we have forgotten to stop and think about what him and his family have done for the city of Buffalo and all of the die-hard fans. This is truly a sad day for the Bills and the rest of the NFL and she deserves as much respect as just about anyone else in the league. May she rest in peace.

I would agree with this.

Ralph, for all of his stupid football decisions, has done a lot for the community. Tuesday night I was at the Ralph and Mary Wilson Cancer Hospice in Cheektowaga, visiting a dying friend.

It is truly a beautiful place.

Sorry to hear that Historian. I hope that goes as well as it can. It's easy to see why you appreciate the Wilson's generosity.

I wonder why Chris Brown hasn't reported this at Buffalo Bills site. It is a horrible loss for Ralph and his family. He is usually at all the major press conferences, but draft weekend was held by Modrak, Brandon, and Jauron.
