TO- 6'3"
Nelson 6'5"
Fine 6'3"
HArdy 6'5"
Shouman 6'2"

Now all we need is for Trent to grow a pair like Flutie had where he just threw the ball up in the air and trusted Moulds to come down with it.

Lol Schouman is on the list. Seriously though Trent is tough enough making a play and getting concussed in the process.

Lol Schouman is on the list. .

Can't count him out. Almost none of our players even get a chance because we keep drafting players at the same position and then rotating them on gameday. Hard for anyone to grow that way.

I'm just saying I would put Steve Johnson on a list before Schouman. I'm not saying I don't like Schouman but I think Johnson would make more of an impact than he would.

I'm not saying this as an RJ supporter - I hated him - but our Flutie led offenses only averaged 14.3 offensive points per game. I want Trent to grow a pair like Jim Kelly!

Fine and Shouman are small for TEs, I'd say only Nelson has decent size there.

Johnson is 6'2. He is as tall as the prototype receiver. Most teams like guys in the 6' to 6'4 range. The Bills got some shorties on the roster. 5'10ers all the way. Reed, Evans. Parrish 5'9. I'm not sure if he is even that tall.

I pointed out Flutie because he only had Moulds who was 6'1" but wasn't scared to throw it up in the air and trusted him to come down with the ball. Trent has no excuse now to dunk it sideways ALA RJ because he doesn't trust his wr's.

No doubt I want him to be like Kelly but Flutie for a small guy and weaker arm than Trent , DF had huge cojones.

I agree with you. We have too much talent at WR now. IF he has to dunk, he still has no excuse as all 3 primary RB's can go out of the backfield.

Also I am not so sure Flutie didn't have a stronger arm than Trent. The dude could put some zip on a ball. For a guy that was only 5'10

his arm got weaker by the end of the season.

of course, I talk to him a few times a week. Hes the real deal, trust me! He is the perfect teammate and talent you want on your team, he just needs a chance to show it.

I don't recall Flutie throwing up "jump balls"... I remember him jumping while throwing the ball.

Flutie was good at anticipating where the receivers were going to be... and Moulds was a way better receiver back then.

Although I do agree... Trent needs to take more chances.... especially with a guy like T.O. and Nelson who seemed to excel at going up after the ball in college.

I like Steve Johnson a lot. I think he should develop really nicely and honestly think that T.O was brought in to show him how to better his game. Him and T.O. have more similar body types than T.O. and Hardy. Hardy better work his ass off because right now Johnson has got the edge big time.

well see if the coaches give stevie a chance, thats all he needs. If they are not going to, I hope they let him go to a team that will...cause that will be my 2nd favorite team.

Which is why I think Flutie was vastly over-rated here.... all he had to do was throw it up.

Ya, Schouman or Fine will probably play more than Nelson, especially at the beginning of the year, so its well worth mentioning.

I have a feeling they'll be using Nelson a decent amount, especially in Week 1. Everyone knows that beating the Patriots will be huge, and imo Week 1 is the best chance we have to beat them, since we have a lot of unknowns on our offense. If we come out with an explosive offense (e.g. Seattle last year), and an aggressive defense, they could put the Pats on their heels enough to beat them.

I just really think they'll look to Nelson at times (red zone?) in Week 1, although Fine might officially "start."

kid mickey
05-01-2009, 12:10 PM
Could happen that way. I just want an ultra competitive game come week 1. If Jauron can get this team to beat the Patriots it would be huge. There wouldn't be nothing greater than to beat them right out the gates.

depends how you look at it.Flutie wasn't tall enough to zip any balls at the no's of his wr's but he didn't care. He trusted Moulds to fight for a lot of the balls thrown his way which is why he was known for being a very physical wr.

all he had to do was throw it up. as long as it worked. He was still the best qb we had since Kelly. Thats really sad.

I'll see Flutie this Sunday.

While this is vastly improved for sure... don't forget that Parrish, Evans and Reed stillhave roles to play, some of which are big roles.
