I know they're insisting that Wood is going to be the RG, but they will get him some snaps at C, since he will probably be the primary backup at C if Hangartner gets injured.

he will be our center either this season or next. they didnt spend a first round pick on a RG. they just dont want to rush him on knowing all the calls and protections because we play top flight DT's all season long and that is alot to just throw on a rookie. at latest in a year he will be our C and hangartner will either be our RG or a versitale backup (a role he knows well)

No. Hangartner will be the C for the next 5 years. They signed him specifically for that reason. They knew what they wanted when they got him and probably already knew they were targeting Wood to play G for them.

A good guard is definitely worth the 28th pick.

hangarnter is no a long term solution at C anymore man. if anything him and wood will switch after this season if wood doesnt beat him out just like khalil did in carolina. hangarnter is a tough run blocker but he is not a top flight C. he been beaten out by a rookie C before, the only reason i dont think it will happen this up coming season is because the bills want wood to ease into C. also remember when you say he will be our C for the next 5 years your talking about a guy that got beat by kris jenkins (a guy we face twice a year) all training camp long his first 3 years in the league and couldnt win the starting job. and then when carolina lost there starting C in free agency instead of sticking with hangartner, they drafted a C (khalil) high in the second round. he is a hold over and a guy that when wood takes over at C can play RG, that is why they signed him. because they knew if he didt get it done at center or we drafted a good C he can still compete at G. you cant say the bills knew he would be a great C, because he track record shows he couldnt win a starting job after 4 years of trying (besides when someone was injured)

If Hangartner was just a stop gap they would not have signed him for 5 years. They like his intelligence, use of leverage and leadership qualities.

The only reason we drafted a C was because a C was our best option for a G. And then they went out and got the highest rated G on the board.

These 3 will be our interior for years.

a center is worth a late first round pick, sense they have to call all the protections and know who is blitzing and what not, they are the QB of the offense. and if they drafted a G for the first round pick i would think it would at least be the G that covers the QB's blindside.

DJ and Russ stated that they prescouted this guy for two years and that he was their number 1 target for 12:01 pm. He is more than a stopgap in the Bills' eyes.

did you see his deal?!? he isnt even getting paid like a starting C. he is being paid like a high end back up. he doesnt even make 2 million next season. that isnt even a average starting C contract, they signed him because he is versitale and can play all three interior spots. when when they realized they were going to draft would when the clock start at the 28th pick i am sure they decided they would let geoff have it this season and him and wood will battle it out next season, and if would is the guy the tape show (and the tape doesnt lie) then it wont be much of a competition for wood.

Regardless of how everything shakes out the guy is our Center right now. Maybe he moves out to guard after Wood gets acclimated to the Center position in the NFL. Either way I like our interior.

He should be our center. He could be the smart, vicious finisher we need at center to lead the line calls in a no huddle offense. Hangnarter scored high on the wonderlic, but I have this feeling that Wood would be our center for a decade if we just let him play his natural position... Levitre is straight up a left guard and will be great there.

Don't guards typically make more coin than centers? You hear a lot about guys like Hutch, Steinbach, Faneca, etc signing big deals. Other than Brown this offseason, and guys like Saturday and Birk, it seems that G is the better compensated position and the more talked about. It would make sense to me, then, that a talented first round interior OL would play G, while the smart vet would man C.
