Imagine if we could get a solid performance out of them this year... combine that with our improvements on D since then and we could have a really effective D. Come on boys... live up to your first round billing.

I never showed whitners 2008 year 1st off since it wouldve taken to long (it took me 3 hrs for this one), and 2nd since he was not able to be a true saftey and he was more of a LB last year forced to stay in the box all the time. Also, McCargo never got to play because Koller was a A-hole.

Mitch, this is a great thread. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I know what it is like to sift through film, break it down and organize it into usable bits.

Now for my opinion, I have never seen Whitner as a bust. I've seen him as a player who has suffered from surroundings. To be a great, pro-bowl calibur SS in this league, you need to have somewhat of an effective DL. He has shown in the past that he can hit, and hit hard. His interceptions are almost non-exsistant, but I attribute that to scheme and lack of talent. I really want him to succeed, he happens to be one of my favorite players. I will be the first to admit however, that he he hasnt lived up to the 8th pick YET. This could be the year.

McCargo is an enigma. In 2007, he had an ok year. It seemed like he was growing into some what of a reliable player. He had a great push out of his stance, excellent POA, and had some good penetration in his play time.

Then he totaly lapsed into a state of non-effectiveness. I don't like him per-say, but I believe that if hes got his act together he can maybe continue to grow and enter the rotation.
