Incredibly bored, so I wrote this. I hope you enjoy. Let it seve as something to get us even more excited about the upcoming season. And as always, GO BILLS!

Welcome back to Monday night Football on ESPN. This matchup has turned out nothing as we expected it to be, as the Buffalo Bills and New England are all tied up, 14 to 14 with just under 8 minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

There can be no doubt in the league's mind that Tom Brady's return to the NFL is not as glorious as first expected. The underdog Bills have matched Belichick's Patriots step for step in this contest.

After Brady struck first with a 23 yard touchdown pass to Wes Welker, the Bills gained the lead. On two well executed long, no-huddle drives by Bills quarterback Trent Edwards, the Bills took a 14-7 lead heading into the third.

Brady has battled the Patriots back however to tie this ball game up, and now with seven minutes and forty-seven seconds left, it is Patriots ball on their own 32 yard-line.

Brady, takes the snap from the spread formation looks left, looks right, under pressure now! Aaron Schobel chasing him down! Brady throws it! and it is out of bounds. Welker the intended reciever there.

The Bills have been using that "Creep defense" that defensive coordinator Perry Fewell seems to enjoy. It has been working so far tonight. This is a new Bills defense, led by certain off season acuisitions. Rookie defensive end Aaron Maybin was thrust into a starting role as Chris Kelsay went down in the second quarter with an apparent ankle injury. We still don't know the extent of the damage on that front.

Brady, the snap. Hands off to Taylor, and he gets a few hard fought yards. Gain of three on the play. Kawika Mitchell and Marcus Stroud on the tackle. It will be third down and seven.

The Bills defense has really buckled down here. They are not giving up very much with the game on the line.

Brady, with the snap, drops back. Fires one over the middle! and it is CAUGHT! RANDY MOSS! WHAT A GRAB! AND THE FIRST DOWN.

Wow, let's look at the replay. Excellent coverage by McGee on the play, but Moss just sticks his hand up and makes the grab for the first down. The ball is on the 45 yard line. Gain of 10 on the play. Just over 7 minutes to play.

Brady, huddles them up and the clock contiues to roll.

The Bills have plenty of time, and have two time outs to burn.

And here we go, the crowd his getting excited. Brady, under center. Takes the snap, play action, rolls to his right... and THERES MAYBIN!!! AARRRROOONNN MAYBIN! with his first sack as a rookie! What a play!

One manned effort the whole way, he stayed with the block realizing it was a roll out, and at the last second, threw his blocker down and jumped all over Brady for the sack, a loss of three on the play.

Brady is limping slightly and calls a time out. We'll be right back, 14-14. Patriots ball here on ESPN Monday night football.

:air:

And we're back! We have got an excellent Monday Night opener here at Foxborro. The anticipated return of Tom Brady has fallen short of expectations. It isnt for lack of production. The Patriot has thrown for two touchdowns, and 254 yards thus-far, but his production has been slowed down for the most part by this hugry Bills defense. Brady also threw an errant mis-communicated interception in the third quarter, to second year man Leodis McKelvin.

The Bills have been everything we thought they weren't. They came out, fired up and hungry, starved for some kind of big win. They may just get one here. Aaron Maybin gets his first sack and welcomes Tom Brady back to the AFC East.

six minutes and 45 seconds to go in the game, the Bills would love to get the ball back with absolutely no pressure time-wise. Although, they havent needed much time at all, their new no-huddle approach has been effective, maybe not point wise, but they can move the ball.

Brady, back to pass. Looking, looking, and dumps one off to the right to Taylor, and he is DROPPED IN THE BACKFIELD! Donte Whitner! Comes like a bullet and stuffs Taylor for a loss of 3!

This crowd is going mad, they are not liking this one bit. Used to dominating the Bills, this is not the norm at Gillette Stadium.

It is 3rd down now, at their own, 39 yard line. They need 16 yards.

Brady from the shot gun, hard count.

Takes the snap, pump fake, fires one and it is... caught! NO! DENIED BY LEODIS MCKELVIN!!!

Leodis says I don't think so, and rips the ball away from Galloway! WHAT A PLAY!

Look at the height the cornerback gets to match Galloway. Excellent coverage, that is how you make a big time play.

The Patriots will punt here. Parrish back for the Bills deep in his territory.

The snap, the punt. this one is fielded at the Buffalo 12. Parrish, runs right, makes one man miss, he's at the 25! and almost makes another man miss. He is down at the Bills' 27 yard line.

Trent Edwards will lead that young Bills offense onto the field yet again, looking to win this game. We'll be right back.

:drool2:

There on camera is 3rd year signal caller Trent Edwards. He has been deadly accurate today, completing 25 of 31 passes, for 293 yards and two touchdowns in this fun to watch no-huddle attack. Lee Evans and T.O both have a touchdown. We'll see what happens now. Plenty of time, and two timeouts to work with here. This one is all tied up! 14-14.

Edwards, two to his right, one to his left. Nelson the tightend on the left. Jackson in the backfield.

Edwards, the snap. Hands off to Jackson, Jackson breaks through the line and MAKES MAYO MISS! but is tripped up at the Buffalo 34, a gain of 7. Jackson has 86 yards on the game.

No-huddle again. Edwards, takes his time, makes the call. Nelson motions out, four wide.

The snap, drops back, FIRES! JOSH REED!!! For a gain of 17 on the play! Wide open in the middle, but he falls down at the New England 49!

This crowd is livid. The Bills are on full attack now. The tired defense of the Patriots scrambles to get back to the line. Bruschi calls out commands.

Edwards, takes the snap, quickly fires on to the right! CAUGHT! OWENS! he stays in bounds at the 38! Gain of 11 on the play!

They are not stopping. No-huddle again. Clock winding down here at New England about 3 minutes to go. Hand off to Jackson off the left side, gain of 4 on the play.

Jackson now has 90 yards on the ground and 22 through the air.

The Bills, line up at the 34 yard line of the Patriots. Edwards, now over 300 yards through the air, lines up in the shot gun.

Takes the snap, plenty of time, here comes Wilfork! Edwards Rolls out and fires one! Caught by Jackson! gain of 8 on the play, another first down!

That is the two minute warning. The Bills are knocking on the door, the Patriots, trying to stay alive.

:historian:

Two minutes to go in New England. Wow, what a game we have here. All tied up 14 to 14, the Bills are deep in Patriot territory, knocking on the door at the 26 yard line of the Patriots. The Patriot defense looked dead on their feet a few minutes ago. They were somewhat saved by the two minute warning. This no-huddle attack has left them at a loss for words.

Edwards, changing the play at the line. The crowd is going wild, cheering on for a big stop here. The snap, Edwards drops back, and fires one to Evans, caught at the 20 yard line and the Bills are in the red!

The Bills taking their time, but they are lined up and ready to go, Edwards, hard count, takes the snap, looking, looking, he will keep it! running off to the left side, and Edwards, to the 15 to the 12! and he will slide down at the 12 yard line!

Trent Edwards, wow. What a showing tonight from the third year man out of Stanford. Is there any doubt that this is what Bills fans were looking for in the opener? Trent Edwards is out playing Tom Brady. I can't believe I just said that, but it is true.

Edwards, takes the snap, 36 seconds left in the game. fires one to OWENS! CAUGHT AT THE 5 YARDLINE!!!

Wow, aren't they glad they got this guy in the offseason? This is something here. The Bills will let the time dwindle down a little bit before running at least one more play, then trying a field goal to win the game.

Edwards, takes the snap, hand off to Jackson.... STEPS INTO THE ENDZONE!!!! TOUCHDOWN BUFFALO! Fred Jackson untouched, walks into the endzone behind the rookie Wood, it was a breakdown in communication, Hangnarter and Levitre washed Wilfork to the left, Jackson just follows the rookie Wood and strolls into the endzone untouched.

That should do it! The Bills will line up to kick the extra point and go up by seven.

The kick is up and it is good! The Bills have taken the lead in Foxborro, 21-14.

Take a look at this, after jackson scores, Trent Edwards just jumping on his teammates, absolute celebration. But, they can't celebrate yet.

We all remember the music city miracle? (They play the clip of the miracle, because ESPN would do something like that.)

The Patriots only have one shot to get something done. No question, we'll see the infamous lateral play here.

Lindell, to kick and this should be it. There are 5 seconds left in the game. The kick is up, and it is fielded at the 5, Here comes Slater. Slater, laterals once, back, Here is another. OH!!!!! NIC HARRIS LIGHTS HIM UP! THAT IS IT! THAT IS THE BALL GAME!

The Buffalo Bills have upset the New England Patriots on the road, on monday night football, on ESPN. This was a game that had two story lines. Trent Edwards and Dick Jauron under fire and needing a big win to start the season, Tom Brady returning to the NFL. Who would prevail? The Buffalo Bills.

The final score, 21-14. The Buffalo Bills score a last minute Touchdown and start the season 1-0. The Patriots could not come up for a defensive scheme to compete against the no-huddle attack of the Bills. Their weapons proved too much. Owens, in his Bills debut was effective, and the Bills got surprising production in Aaron Maybin's rookie start, as he came in for the injured Chris Kelsay. The Bills have a long tough road ahead of them, but they needed a victory like this.

Lets roll that clip one more time after the game winning touchdown. There is Trent Edwards and that exciting offense.

The Bills win their first game of the season. Tom Brady falls in his return. Is this the passing of the torch in the AFC East? Should be an excitng 2009 season...

I hope you enjoyed.

No problem. Lack of Bills news and activity bores me. Work is slow anyways. So I have time to indulge in a little creative writing.
