All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have signed defenseman Tyler Myers to a three-year entry level contract. Myers was Buffalo’s first selection (12th overall) in the 2008 Entry Draft.
“Tyler is having an outstanding year with the Kelowna Rockets,” said General Manager Darcy Regier. “This past weekend he led the Rockets to the Western Hockey League Championship where he was named playoff MVP. He is a big, strong player who has excellent hockey skills for a 19-year old player. We’re glad to have him signed and look forward to his continued development both on and off the ice.”
Myers (6’8”, 215 lbs., 2/1/1990) is about to put the finishing touches on an incredible season, as his Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League have advanced to the Memorial Cup Championship that begins this week in Quebec.
Guess he plays in Buffalo next year. He is not eligible to play in Portland.
He can play up to 10 games in Buffalo. At that point Buffalo either has to keep him for the year or send him back to Kelowna in the Juniors. He cannot be sent to Rochester.

Once he has signed a contract, are you sure he can still go back to the Juniors?
He is NHL ready if you put him up against the clowns we have in front of Miller now.
“You hold a players only meeting and get each guy to stand up and say what he can bring to the table... and if he doesn't, you punch him in the face.” ~~ Harry Neale, on how to fix the Sabres season.
with the signing of Myers means that Spacek isn't going to be back. Also look for Tallinder to be shopped around at the draft, the Sabres don't have a second round draft choice which they gave up to San Jose for Rivet. The Sabres want to get that 2nd round draft choice back and trading Tallinder could get them that pick back.

So.... the Sabres are going to drop two veteran defensemen because they added one 19 year old D man who still needs to add bulk? That makes a lot of sense....
