thanks for the valuable info... It does take a bit of the sting off of drafting a few more CB's when you realize we will see a few walk next year.

I'd keep Jackson. I might keep Reed and McGee or Youboty depending on how some of the younger guys we have at those positions develop this year, but CB and WR are our two strongest positions so I think we could get away without them. If Youboty stays healthy and improves this year, I'd keep him over McGee due to cost and age.

The rest of those bums can walk, although I have a feeling we'll end up re-signing one of the S's just because we can't afford to lose 3 in a year.

If Denney can come back at his current salary and role (#3 DE), I am fine with him staying too.

Schouman, as an RFA, can stay too as depth at TE.

Other than that, I essentially agree with Op. I would not mind seeing McGee extended before the season for the right price. Maybe Reed too, but Johnson might be able to be a #3 next year.

If they keep a safety, I would prefer Scott first and then Wilson.

mcgee, and jackson (jackson is less a priority because he is a RFA) are the only priorities on this list. i mean if owens produces enough to justify 6.5 million guaranteed a year you can have him for another season or franchise him, no one is going to want him anyways. they didnt want him after a 1000 yard 10 td season last year so nothing new is going to change just because he kept his mouth shut and puts up the numbers he always does in buffalo. mcgee is a must in my opinion, we have dominik rhodes under contract and jackson is still a RFA after the season, but.

Jackson, Owens, Reed, McGee, Youboty - Owens based on his performance this year. Obviously injury, performance, and performance of the younger guys will affect it. I hope Stevie gets some chances so he is ready if Reed leaves.

Owens is a rent-a-player. He'll either play well for us and we'll get outbid by someone else, or he'll be a distraction and won't be welcome back. Either way, 2009 is all we get with him.

why would someone outbid us next year for owens?? no one wanted him after a 1000 yard 10 td catch season last year? we wont get outbid for a productive 36 (by this time next season) year old WR. if we want him we can easily resign him. if we get in the playoffs and he has a solid year, he wont want to leave. at 36 he will only get a one year deal no 3 yr 10million a year deal again, so he'll stay if we want him.

If it says "2010" next to name, that player has one year left on his deal and will be a FA after this season. Let's assume for this that a new CBA will be in place, or this entire list is null and void because free agency rules change if the league actually gets to an uncapped year.

Looks like we have 5 DBs entering their free agency year, which might help explain drafting more of them this year........again.

Looking at the list......what players would you make a priority and which ones would you not bother offering a new deal?

Only Terrance McGee, Simpson and Denney are ones I have no interest in resigning. The rerst depend on the money they want.

he's the exception- if he plays well for us I bet he can land a two or three year deal for 5 or 6 mill a year somewhere. And it won't be in Buffalo.

Question... why is John Wendling not on the list? He's also still not on the depth chart (and Duke Preston still is...)
