7. Buffalo Bills: This one might be a surprise because I'm going against the formula. The Bills' .570 schedule is the sixth-hardest in the league. Whether they've played hard schedules or easy schedules, the Bills have finished 7-9 for three straight seasons. Their break is "non-common" non-division games against the Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs, which are winnable. Plus, Terrell Owens should add scoring punch to their offense. He usually takes an offense to an average of 24.0 ppg or better because of his ability to catch touchdown passes. The Bills averaged 21.0 ppg last year. A two-point improvement could put them at 9-7.

we have a chance... but it'll be a nail biter until the end. No matter how good we look early on in the year, there is going to be fear down the stretch.

and we still have the Jauron factor to deal with

lol.. I like how Clayton picks 8 teams that could "potentially: shock.. Analysts should be able to only pick 2 teams that could surprise

When you finish 7-9 every year..You're always a candidate to be the "surprise" team every year.. Especially in John Claytons world

Clayton is already working on his follow up column: "32 teams that could surprise next year".

Followed by "32 teams that could disappoint next year"

and Russ Brandon's marketing machine claims another victim. Clayton will look like a fool come October or so, not that looking like a fool has ever deterred him before.

The Bills won't hit 9-7. Even if they do, 9-7 won't make the playoffs in the AFCE.

Clayton needs to change the title to "8 loser franchises that don't have a clue but might eventually pull their head's out of their asses".

So... when picking the shockers, don't you just pick 8 of the worst teams? I mean, if you pick the good teams, it wouldn't be a shocker, right?
