pretty soon the Aud will be only a memory, to bad they are tearing down the Aud for nothing because Bass Pro will never come to Buffalo! make way for another parking lot for the HSBC Arena. Hey it's Buffalo the city never does anything right!

Another major chunk of Memorial Auditorium came crashing down this morning as crews continue demolition of the sports landmark.

Matt Davison, spokesman for the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp., said in April that crews would begin picking away at the remaining walls once most of the trusses are removed. Completion date is set for late June.

even though I only went to two games there, it's still sad to see it go.

There's no point in letting nostalgia impede progress, though. It'll be worth it if Buffalo actually does something with the waterfront space.

And the odds that Buffalo will do something worthwhile are about the same odds I have of hooking up with Angie Harmon.

What was the point of keeping the Aud? It was a crap hole and full of toxic waste.

Bass pro or not it opens the door for something that can actually be used in that area.

I have great memories from the Aud, but it HAD to go. You've got to move forward and stop looking back to make progress.

There was nothing like the feeling of standing up in the oranges and being convinced that you were going to tumble down and land in blues or golds.

I attended many games at the Aud, going back to the old AHL Bisons, the Globetrotters vs. the College All Stars, Little Three games, Braves' games and others.

I like HSBC a lot better.

My best freind's (and Best man- twice) - Chuck- his dad Carl was a beer vendor there during the late 70's through the 80's.

Lots of memories going with him on Sundays (when the Sabres played EVERY sunday night at 7) and freezing my ass off waiting for him to go to the basement and opening a back door. Chuck and I would sneak in 2 hours before game time and watch tons of Hockey (and once in a while concerts)

We would be up in the standing room only section for period 1 and by then the ushers in Carl's section would knbow which Canadien season ticket holders would be a no show. His section was down in the golds in the corner.

I must have seen 30-40 games that way.

:funny: that's what people said about the Buffalo Central Terminal nobody gave it a chance and look at it today. (I  the terminal my Grandpa used to take me there every Sunday I would go to church with Grandma and Grandpa then we would go to the terminal then to see Amtrak arrive in Depew. I used to tell him that "I was going to win the lottery one of these days and I was going to buy the terminal and fix it up". Hey I was like four or five at the time and I truly believe that he's the one making this all happen up there in heaven...god I miss him so much) It's going to be used as a train station again for high speed rail, Apartments and office space.

The Aud wasn't in that bad of shape, The Buffalo Central Terminal was in worst shape than the Aud was! At least the Aud was boarded up and locked. The terminal had it's doors ripped off!
the terminal fell through the hands of various owners until the CTRC acquired it in 1997. Years of neglect and Buffalo weather took their toll on the building. Previous owners removed all the ornamental details of the building, and vandals contributed to the destruction by adding graffiti tags and breaking windows.
People said "that it wouldn't last another Buffalo winter and as a joke they "said if you got close to the terminal you could see old papers from the New York Central railroad flying out the window of the tower". the City of Buffalo wanted to rip it down but couldn't get their hands on the building because of the big hefty price tag it would cost them to demolish the terminal and it was also on the State and National Registers of Historical Places list and then in November of 2003 the terminal was put on the Seven to Save list.

that's where we come in, we are the Buffalo Central Terminal Restoration Corp.

The stories the old Aud could tell if it could talk. Especially about the contact highs.

Touching story about your grandfather and all... but dude,

Have you been to the terminal lately?

Coming from NYC, people would get off the train and be treated with "Yo mucha****a, nice watch.. how about you give it to me or i bust ya face?!!"

What does the Terminal have to do with this? Restoring the Terminal is a worthy undertaking, but it really has nothing to do with the Aud being razed. You can plug it in the Buffalo Zone.
