Message to the Buffalo Bills: Shut Down the Circus

I think this is exactly how the outsiders and possibly some fans view the Bills.

Biggest Donte Whitner supporter on this entire message board...Maybe biggest Donte Whitner fan ever...Wish there was a white throwback out that I could get of you guessed it #20...

No. TO is the only famous one, and even that is overshadowed by Favre-watch again. Embarrassing or not, this stuff is already forgotten everywhere outside of a Bills message board. It's also May.

A local casual Cowboys "fan" (buys jerseys, goes to see the Cowboys play the Colts) didn't even know that Owens had joined the Bills. Buffalo is off the map. Still.

Now give me my two minutes back.

They had no "circus" for the last 9 years...how did that work out?

Not true. You forgot about the infamous Flutie-Johnson war.

Have you ever considered the only "circus" is the one generated by the media? T.O. has done nothing to generate controversy except to breath air. It's the bloggers, columnists and pundits who can't stop themselves from breathlessly letting us all know what a "circus" it all is. Ironic.

Re: Message to the Buffalo Bills: Shut Down the Circus

A couple things, while Jason Taylor is around the same age as TO, he in no way is the same "type" of signing as the TO signing. JT is far from the distraction in his career TO has been. JT doesn't disrupt his team with yelling and screaming on the sidelines or calling out his teammates. I was reading when the JT deal go done JT was told if he doesn't earn a roster spot he will be sent packing, if he doesn't participate in the off season work program he will be off the team and if he didn't play for the 1.5 mil he wouldn't be signed and JT agreed to all of that.

It seems to me JT had to take a huge hit to his ego to resign with the Dolphins even though there were some 12 other teams willing to offer him a job. I gurantee TO wouldn't have agreed to any of those terms to play for this team...GUARANTEE!!!!

Secondly, I like several of the recent DP's, but we do seem to have quite a few players with issues. This bothers me. I don't know how many times I've said it, but if TO and TE aren't on the same page come game one, we wasted our time and money. This team lacks focus and priorities. There is no bottom line, no consequence.

This is why DJ bothers me so much, it's great that he's a players coach, but you also have to make the players understand this is a team sport and everything they do could ultimately impact the rest of the team. Therefore if you get arrested, you impact the rest of the team. If you do drugs, you impact the rest of the team, if you are arrested for illegal gun posetion, you impact the team.

All those are negative impacts and prevent team chemistry. I want to read about players helping the community positively. Not being arrested! DJ's style is way too soft imo. He needs to make the players responsible for their actions and I just don't see that going on in Buffalo. He should never have been extended.

Can you tell me what exactly T.O. has done that requires such swift firm action on Jauron's part, or are you just getting ready for it?

At least they made the playoffs when they were here. Plus that was over 9 years ago

I thought that was in the works when he was in Dallas.. then he got traded.

Anyway, I was at the airport today and it was nothing but a circus. I work there and as I was leaving there were kids with "TO" painted on their chests.. Jills all around... about 5 cameras from VH1... news cameras.. huge signs.. one kid even had a box built around his body as a "popcorn box".

T.O. personally asked for 2 beautiful women to escort him when he got off of the plane. His film crew followed him from the gate to his mob of "fans" waiting at the bottom of the escalator. Quite the circus, INDEED!

I don't see his showboating and ego doing much for a young team trying to gel, but that's just my opinion.

The OP prefaced this " I think this is exactly how the outsiders and possibly some fans view the Bills."

50% of outsiders don't know Buffalo has a team. Or who Ko Simpson is. Or Whitner. Or Corey "here's my wiener" McIntyre.

I quit reading after this line.

"He is arguably the greatest wide receiver to play the game"
