would you really expect a better decision from a city that:

a) is so incompetent that it needed a control board to oversee it's money
b) allows lake front property to sit dormant for decades
c) waits 10+ years to tear down a hockey stadium that last was in service during the clinton administration


using that logic it's very easy to see why buffalo would rather give a key to the city to a guy who has been here 5 hours instead of the million + people that are forced to piss away their income in the form of 2342 different taxes

I stopped regularly watching Rome years ago. I do catch part of an episode every few months, but turn the station pretty fast. He is without doubt the worst, most arrogant sports character out there. The guy has so much ego yet says absolutely nothing of substance. So, who cares what he says? T.O. may very well blow up in our face. It's not like he doesn't have a history of issues. It certainly isn't prophetic to state something like that, but I'm sure Rome went up there with confidence and claimed he's not a T.O. hater, just telling it like it is, etc. I think all of us are hopeful of good things to come, but none of us are blind to what the potenial risks are. He's from SoCal. It's a different atomosphere and personality from those in WNY. Just different. If he's hammering on the people there and the city then he's just ignorant and his opinion isn't worth much. F-him.

I won't argue at all with what he thinks about the team or T.O., he's an arrogant blogger, not a sportscaster. He can believe the Bills won't make the playoffs, he can guarantee, I don't care. I can sit here and guarantee the Steelers will never win another Super Bowl. You just don't throw a city that's been through enough **** already under the bus. He also said T.O. is the only celebrity Buffalo has ever seen.

I am not a fan of the Jim Rome Show because his act was stale with me. However, I don't have anything against the guy. He is not afraid of calling his shot and then being a stand up guy and eating his words if he is proved wrong. The Bills can make him eat his words if they go to the playoffs. I think he is wrong about the fans and does not realize the passion of Bills fans.

Rome is the single most obnoxious "listen" I have ever heard.

Intolerable, and that has nothing to do with his views of my hometown or the Bills.

I cannot understand how anyone listens to his scripted parade of fools talk show.

He certainly voices his opinion and will not back down, I just dont particularly like listening to Jim Rome. He prates on and on while standing on his soapbox about things that annoy him, and will make a HUGE deal out of the smallest thing (like, say, 100 people from the city of Buffalo greeting a new player at the airport???)
