The Bears set themselves up for failure by trading out of No. 4 and eventually winding up with No. 14 and 22 in a draft with precious few elite players. The team's success — or failure — will ultimately be determined by how the first two players Chicago selected stack up to defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson, who went in the fourth spot to the New York Jets. The Bears got off to a rocky start with defensive end Michael Haynes, a player projected by most to go late in the first round, but recovered nicely with quarterback Rex Grossman. His performance could bail general manager Jerry Angelo out on this one.
