As reported on Sirrius, Ellis is already looking at NE and Miami as his top choices. He's narrowed his list down to 4 teams with these being his two most desirable.

Good time for the Bills to reshuffle thier line.

Nah, seriously... who the hell is Ellis? I don't think Shaun or Greg are free agents are they?

Greg Ellis, (soon to be formerly) of the Cowboys. He'd be a good pickup for either team, but his age will lead him to wear down as the season progresses.

Joey Porter, Jason Taylor, Cameron Wake, Greg Ellis can't all play at the same time, sure great depth but can anyone of them cover anyone out of the backfield also. This is why I believe Fred Jackson has been split out a lot also.

Yeah but when you sub out, your quality stays high and the legs stay fresh

While the Pats could certainly use Ellis rush skills (he does have 20 sacks in the last couple years), I'm doubtful they could sign him unless he is willing to sign for less.

Though the Pats aren't in terrible cap shape and could make room, they have a number of important players that they need to sign in the next couple seasons. That is going to keep them from leveraging themselves too much to sign guys, instead going with short-term/shorter money deals. Because Ellis can rush, he is going to attract some interest when he is cut. I can't see the Pats getting in a bidding war over the guy.

somewhat similar situation for Miami, if he goes somewhere, his salary may not be as high as he originally thinks it should be

yup. Thats exactly what happened when Joey Porters friends subed in and beat Levi JOnes. Porters legs stayed fresh.

Is there ever a good time to reshuffle your line? You can't live in fear of what other teams are doing.

He was that obnoxious guy in Die Hard who got shot

he is a solid 3-4 rusher he had 12 sacks 2 years ago and last year had 8. i dont think he is good enough at his age to put his hand down though so judging by the 2 top teams he knows he has to play in a 3-4 to succeed. at 33 (34 by the time the season starts i believe) a team can probably get 2 years of decent production out of him before he really looses a major step. that 12 sack year did come out of nowhere though, he won come back player of the year that year.

you think Stroud could play DE in a 3-4? Please. There was a point in his career where he could have been a 3-4 NT but not anymore. And Maybin at ILB? If anything he should be an OLB in a 3-4.

How'd you get an advance copy of Madden 2010?

i don't think he'll be able to get by langston with his wheelchair. maybe if he buys a hover-round he'll have a shot.

Oddly enough once most players get older they tend to want to go to winning teams or teams with a legitimate shot of winning.

NE without a doubt, year in and year out, the past 8 seasons is far and away the best chance a player has at winning now.

And Parcells makes Miami viable, look what they did last year under some of his guidance.

We don't have the cap room and have bigger needs.

I don't think cap room is an issue. But yes, we have bigger needs
