PITTSBURGH - The Steelers will embark on their preparation for the 2003 season on Tuesday when they start voluntary coaching sessions.
The sessions are a chance for the coaches to work closely with the players, teaching younger players the basics of the Steelers offense, defense and special teams and helping the veterans with a refresher course.
"It's good for all of the players, even the veteran players, those who played here," said defensive line coach John Mitchell. "It’s a chance for them to refine their skills. There might be something since the off-season started that the coaches have seen to help improve a player. This is the time to teach it. There is no pressure to get ready for a game.
