The 2003 rookie class got a real taste of the NFL on Monday, mixing in for the first time with veterans during morning workouts at Baptist Sports Park.
“Everybody was bigger, faster, and stronger. These are grown men out there,” said MTSU running back Dwone Hicks. “Right now I’m just trying hard and learning how to do everything right.”
Added DT Rien Long, the Outland Trophy Winner from Washington State: “They’re not so mythical, they’re actually real people. It’s just real cool standing alongside of them. It made me understand the pace of this game and realize exactly where I need to be and just how far I have to go.”
