They had their draft last night.

Looks like Wendell Bryant isn't going to work out at the NFL afterall. He got drafted by the Las Vegas team.

Buffalo will be a new franchise soon... Maybe we can get JP back as he should be able to dominate crappy competition...

I can't believe that Wale Dada went to Las Vegas. I was hoping Buffalo would make a run at him.

Orlando isn't messing around.

DB Mike Doss
TE Jermaine Wiggins
NT Larry Tripplett
DE Bo Schobel

They would probably give the Bills a run for their money./Sarcasm

Brian Toal got drafted by Vegas too. great news for the kid. He was plagued by injuries while going to BC but he has All Pro talent, I was glad to see he got a second chance

Frankly this league does indeed look like real football. I think I'll watch it!

I'll watch it, as long as there are no goofy rules like XFL had.

Wow... LaBrandon Toefield, Adam Archuleta, Cecil Sapp, Brooks Bollinger, Trip, Zack Pillar... impressive.

Also, glad to see a foreigner make a football squad that isn't from Europe (Kino****a Noriaki from Japan)

And no XFL rules? No fair catch and no Opening Scramble!? I want to see JP sprint 30 yards to pick up a football, he did it quite a few times in Buffalo :/

I'm pretty sure Versus got the contract. I get it so I'll watch.

They'll have 8 teams in year 2. Have $$ for at least 2 years, I'm reading.

With NFL Europe & Arena not playing, they certainly have players to pick from.

If the NFL starts shedding small market teams, here's the next stop.

This is going to be NBDL for football...and it will eventually lead to a AAA system.

they'll be known as Loss Vegas if Lossman's their QB.

More likely than just failing after 1-2 years. They're looking at playing games mid-week, like Wed,Thurs nights to avoid competing with High School,College & The NFL.

The NFL teams directly helps a UFL by paying 20 % of their players 80 % of the salary cap. Overpaying a Peyton Manning type bumps a lot of NFL minimum 2nd-3rd string players off rosters and provides the UFL a decent player.

You mean if the football part doesn't work out they're going to tow cars?

The UFL's biggest ticket in this is how the NFL handles the CBA this next offseason. if there is a work stoppage, i'd check out games on versus...and if the games are halfway competitive, the UFL could gain ground.

If the NFL locks everything up before, then the uphill battle will be hard for the UFL. i'll watch some games this year if they are on TV and i'm not doing anything. they should get some support from us.

i wish they friggen played during the offseason.. so that they could fill in the dead time ... they would get a lot more football starved people to watch.

I agree but it's easier said than done.

It's tough to play football in summer because of the heat, and no one is going to pay to see 2nd rate football games in February or March (see the XFL). They could have their pre-season start right as the NFL season ends and play the regular season games in April and May, but then you have to compete with NHL and NBA playoffs plus the start of MLB.

If they could work around the heat somehow, this would be the best time of year to be playing their games. People are starting to get excited about football, NHL and NBA are done, and baseball's in the very long mid-season stretch.
