2/12/09: A monstrous pass-rusher, Eric Norwood collected 14.5 TFL and nine sacks as a junior.
1/6/09: Eric Norwood has announced that he'll be returning to school once he learned that he would be a late-round pick from the NFL Draft Advisory Committee. Norwood cited that he plans to improve his draft stock as a senior just like Aaron Curry.
1/2/09: Unless Eric Norwood desperately needs the money, I don't get why he would declare early. Then again, a cynic could ask why South Carolina boosters weren't paying Norwood enough.
7/30/08: Eric Norwood made the most out of his first year as a full-time starter. Norwood recorded 69 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss and six sacks.
Comments:
9/03/09: NC State game- Mobile, is around the ball. Can get locked up in blocks. Not good at getting off blocks around the edge. Speed appears to be his game at this point. Not strong enough yet. Scored a coverage sack. Short for a pass rusher but has long arms for his body.
09/24/09- vs. So Car- beats the LT around the edge for an early 1st qtr sack on Snead. Certainly has the speed, but his short build may make him a speed rusher only... may be better suited as a 3-4 OLB a.l.a. Larry English.
10/17/09- vs. Bama- Not big enough or strong enough to be much of an every down DE pass rusher... really should go to a 3-4 team and be used as a rushing OLB.
