This a 3-part article from the BN but 99 percent of this stuff won't happen. Makes for a good read though...

GM for a day: Fix hockey department, bring on Bouwmeester

I start by making sure everyone adheres to specific roles, which for years has been the Wings' approach from the owner to the parking attendants. Here, it means Quinn oversees business operations and establishes a budget before getting out of the way.

Coach for day: Tough guys on first line will set tone

There's one surefire way for athletes to alienate this town. It's when they sum up their games like this:
"We came out flat. The effort wasn't there. We just weren't ready to play."
Of all the sentences from the Buffalo Sabres during the past two playoff-free seasons, three stick out.
"We came out flat. The effort wasn't there. We just weren't ready to play."

Quinn for a Day: Part of job is getting out of the way

And Larry, there's a huge hole in the ground now where this team once played. Tidying that up should take a huge chunk of your time. You'll be plenty busy enough there to stay away from hockey decisions, right

Larry Quinn needs to get out of the way but he thinks that he is a hockey man so the Sabres are screwed for YEARS to come.

I read this in the Buffalo News the other day. It was very good and I would love it to happen. If the Sabres sign only 1 player in the offseason, Jay Bouwmeester is the perfect fit!

All you gotta do is get rid of Teppo, Spacek, Taillinder and some offensive dead weight. :D

Gleason's blue line would still be shaky IMO, but with Butler, Sekera and Myers anchored by Boumeister there's a lot more potential there than in the current D.

The only real issue I saw was the trades: he mentions players available via trade due to the cap situation for many teams, but all the potential compensation for the Sabres also had salaries in the $3-4 million range. It doesn't add up.
