The Sabres rookie development camp got underway Monday at Niagara University's Dwyer Arena. Standing tall for the Sabres, defenseman Tyler Myers.

I think he will make the team, im glad he is progressing so well and has packed weight on, but i feel the organization is being cheap and using prospects as our hope and not going out and getting some veteran players for leadership and tuffness for our blueline, then make room for Myers by getting rid of bums like Paetsch Lydman and Tallinder, I for one am glad Spacek is gone, and im hoping Teppo who is a FA retires cause he sucks too

Myers has the look of a special player mite need 1 yr of AHL but i know he isnt eligable for that yet, and would have to go back to juniors

Well he is our first round pick. Shouldn't he be able to play in the NHL? I think they are going to stick with Lydman, Tallinder, Rivet, Mountador as the veterans(not sure if that is a great idea). Sekera and Butler will most likely be 5 and 6 with Myers as 7. Get rid of Tallinder IMO.

at 19 and undersized (well, underweight), I don't see him being on the squad day 1. But I wouldn't be surprised if they called him up to sub for injuries and had him as a 5 or 6 guy by the end of the season. The NHL isn't the NBA- these things take time.

He can't go to the AHL because of his age. It's either the Sabres or back to the Kelowna Rockets (WHL)

                    Yes it does.

He is actually damn near a lock to be on the opening day roster.

He can play ten games while retaining Junior eligibility. I really think he will be here for those ten games and if he is bad, he goes down. If he looks like he can hang, he stays.

Now thats the logical thing to do. So we know thats not whats going to happen.
