Some tidbits (wonder if the last one is really true?):

---Regarding Kelsey: The Bills (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/buffalo-bills) hard-working-but-sack-challenged veteran defensive end has collected a mere 4.5 sacks in the two seasons since signing a four-year, $23 million contract. He has just 17 sacks in his six-year NFL career, an average of fewer than 3.0 per season....

Kelsay finds himself fighting for not just his starting job but his roster spot as the Bills (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/buffalo-bills) get set to open training camp on July 25 in Rochester, N.Y.

---Flamboyant agent Drew Rosenhaus is already working on getting wide receiver Terrell Owens (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/player/70702) an extension beyond his one-year deal, saying his client is enjoying Buffalo and wouldn't mind finishing his career there.

---Lankster, who played at West Virginia, could prove to be a sleeper for the Bills (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/buffalo-bills). In spring drills, he collected five interceptions and seven pass breakups.

--- If the NFL goes forward with expanding its schedule by a game or two, Toronto's Rogers Communications wants badly to land more Bills (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/buffalo-bills) games.
"I'm sure they want another game. And who knows?" Wilson said. "I don't know whether they'll get another game or not. We'll have to see how it works out up there."

---Things were so shaky at nickel, the Bills (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/buffalo-bills) used strong safety Donte Whitner (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/player/401237) on the slot receiver for many games. Corner eventually emerged late in the season and now is poised to win the job outright.

---Scott has replaced Whitner at the starting strong safety spot leaving Whitner in a three-way fight for the starting job at free safety. Simpson's play has tailed off but the team is high on rookie Byrd.

So if Corner wins the SR spot out right over Whitner, and Scott already replaced Whitner at SS, and if Whitner doesn't win the FS spot in the 3 way battle, we won't be seeing him on the field this year and that would mean OpIv was spot on about him sucking. :gag:

This Fox Sports report has a lot of speculation sprinkled in. If Byrd shows he can play FS right away then Donte will be the SS for sure barring injury. Scott will not beat out Whitner at any position.

The only question at the safety position is Byrd. If he cant handle it right away then Scott will start instead.

Scott has "replaced" Whitner at SS only because Donte was needed at FS, not because Scott beat him out.

And with Ellis still developing and Maybin most likely being in a situational pass rushing role, Kelsay will still be needed as a veteran presence.

This was flat out denied but Bills officials. They said if Byrd picks up the scheme quickly Whitner will slide back to SS.

... or Op is writing for Fox Sports. The latter seems to be more believable at this point.
