(May 20, 2003) -- Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman Roberto Garza has gotten involved in an invaluable cause to help those suffering from diabetes.
Garza knows about the problem all too well as his grandfather suffers from the disease. Garza is now part of a new campaign that includes English and Spanish-version public service announcements (PSAs) highlighting the importance of foot care for people with diabetes.
The American Association of Health Plans (AAHP) and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) will release the new PSAs at an event that will be attended by Bush Administration officials and Members of the Congressional Hispanic and Diabetes Caucuses on Wednesday, May 21 on Capitol Hill. Garza will participate in a demonstration about good foot care.
