The NFL continues to prove that it's all about the money with them. 3 days of the draft? Come on! What happens to all those fans that used to love scheduling their Saturday and hosting a draft party? Now it's going to be a 2 day party? :ill:

Good business decision.

Primetime airtime commercials = mega $$$$$$$

It's all about the money...eventually some people will wisen up to that fact.

So the official reason is "to make the draft more accessible to more fans", but for people on the Pacific coast it's in the middle of the afternoon, and for the fairly large number of NFL fans in Europe and the middle east it's the middle of the night.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Just like the Pro Bowl, they will try it for a year (maybe 2) and change it again.

Good business decision.

crappy diehard fan decision though, and that is who watches the draft and hangs on for every morsel

the casual fan is not going to sit thourgh 3 hours of non-sensical babble from old football stars who ramble on about crap that most people don't care about and only want to watch the games

That's exactly what it's all about. Money talks.

i can't imagine the GM's or players-to-be being very excited for teams 20-32 to pick at like 11pm through midnight in the thursday night line up. it seems even more crippling to not only draft later in the round but later at night. Luckily our Dick Jauron teams won't ever be put in a situation to do that.

maybe i just don't like this because they are bucking convention, but i like having the lazy saturday, running errands, checking the ticker, getting sucked into the whole draft, watching the sun go down as i now have completed none of my errands yet know a ton about college football players for 1 day.

My dad and i saw the JP draft selection and as a result were super late for a family wedding, and we walked down the aisle 2 minutes before the bride which caused a stir.

Now i'll never be able to be that thoughtless again with a thursday night draft. damn you nfl

I'll predict now that the following morning ends up being one of the top three "call into work" days of the year nationally.

Why do you need to get hammered watching the Draft? It is boring.

I'm in the minority on this one. I absolutely love the changes. Sat. is my least favorite day to sit around just to watch TV.

Previous years, I resorted to recording the draft just so I wouldn't miss the Bills picks.

Not boring but worth celebrating for.... I love the draft and usually have a houseful of football fans from all different teams.. Its a great time and the great times dont stop because of a change on the calendar... just sucks .. it is breaking a great tradition in my house.... "Like when my buddy who is a Bears fan, born and rasied on the SouthSide, almost sh** when they drafted Rex Grossman".. Good Memories...
