Per the Buffalo News ...

PITTSFORD — You can count out the Buffalo Bills as a potential suitor for Michael Vick.
Russ Brandon, the team's chief operating officer/general manager, told The Buffalo News today that the Bills aren't interested in bringing in the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback....

Like we needed Russ Brandon to tell us this. I can't believe some of you were actually concerned that we would do such a thing.

Oh well. It could have added a different dimension for us in Buffalo.

That is not entirely what it says:

"We wouldn't have any interest at this time," Brandon said. "We're comfortable with our roster as it stands right now."

He left wiggle room.

Well if Fitzpatrick keeps throwing wabbly balls at receivers feet, I think we should put a competitive offer on the table for Vick. If Trent gets hurt, it would be nice to have a guy come off the bench who has won a lot of games in the NFL.

And if we are serious about winning this year by using a no-huddle offense, he could be a huge asset.

What this move by the Bills says:

1) We are not so driven for the SB that we will throw out our honor by signing a convicted felon
2) We have plenty of respect for Edwards and want him to be the QB.
3) The players will not run this team. Just because they want something, doesnt mean the Bills will do it.
4) The Bills feel adequate at backup QB (I dont agree but thats what they think).
5) We might have an option in mind for a Wildcat QB formation. Marshawn can throw a decent ball.
6) Trent wont be looking over his shoulder for this year.

It was always just the fans and speculation by second rate reporters from ESPN and PFT.

Not always, sometimes we nail the rumors and they become true.

This FO has done some pretty dumb things so I don't blame anyone for having their doubts. Fortunately, they are doing the right thing in this particular case.

I guess - signing Terrell Owens was certainly a shocker that most people would've ruled out. But as for QBs, the Bills seem to be dedicated to Trent. Unless Vick was signed as a 'Wildcat' type guy who would play a few downs here or there, I wouldn't see it happening.
