    GIANTS MULL Zeigler's future

May 21, 2003 -- Dusty Zeigler's future with the Giants could be determined - if it isn't already - by the results of today's physical examination by team physician Dr. Russell Warren.
The starting center on the 2000 Super Bowl team is in extreme danger of getting cut or jettisoned after an injury settlement following June 1 unless his surgically repaired right knee is deemed to be sound.

Zeigler has spent his offseason home in Georgia, trying to strengthen a troublesome knee that underwent microfracture surgery prior to last season. He never really recovered from the procedure and played in only two games, both at right guard. Starting against the Falcons and Eagles in place of injured Jason Whittle, Zeigler did not distinguish himself and was soon after placed on injured reserve.
