Clark Judge is really high on Bell

    3. Just my opinion, but backup tackle Demetrius Bell could be the next Jason Peters with Buffalo. A seventh-round draft pick in 2008, Bell is raw, talented and scary good. He could serve as a swing tackle this season and has been taking turns in camp at guard. But you can book this: The guy will push for a starting job before long. He is too good to keep down. The Bills absolutely love him and think he has the ability to make it big. Bell is the son of former NBA great Karl Malone.

    Now, wouldn't that be sweet...

If he is going to be the next Jason Peters, does that mean he has an IQ in the high single digits?

Maybe we can get a 1st and a 4th for him right now!

There are worse things than continuosly taking 7th round/undrafted players and trading them for a 1st and a 4th.

          Bell-Levitre-Wood-Butler-Walker

Hangnarter is our relief man keeping the middle of the line fresh.

That is how I would organize the Buffalo Bills o-line IF Bell was ready (and Levitre)

Yeah, like the way our FO handles the longer-than-necessary period leading up to said transaction.

it is rare that a whole oline stays healthy all season.. so it is great to hear that we have a couple options at tackle if the injury bug hits... chambers has played very well at RT when needed.. obviously Walker could switch back to RT.. and bell sounds like he could play at LT if necessary.. Wood also gives up some options, as well as hartgardner.. both can play guard or center.. so i feel pretty good about our options..

The first time I saw Bell play in the pre-season games last year I was surprised with how well he pass-blocked. It seemed he had the natural talent and athleticism for the position. Hopefully he will continue to develop and also get better in the run game.

I do think the nucleus is there for a solid O line for years to come but I think it needs time. I am hoping they will be solid by the second half of the year but realistically they will need a year of experience and working together to become a line we feel good about.

Refer to my O-line hope thread I started yesterday for an outstaning look at what could be.
