NFL upholds three-game suspension for Bills RB Lynch

Marshawn Lynch will serve all three games

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on August 3, 2009 4:42 PM ET
Bills running back Marshawn Lynch has lost an appeal with the NFL to have his three game suspension reduced.

Tom Curran, currently traveling the country for NBCSports.com and PFT, passes along the news from Bills training camp camp.

The statement released reads as follows:

"Commissioner Roger Goodell has notified Marshawn Lynch that he has review his appeal of a three game suspension for violating the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy and that it should not be modified."

That is BS after Marshall got reduced - I thought it would get to one game.

I'm surprised that it wasn't reduced to 2 games.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

It is BS. I am not condoning what he did but by going off of what other players have done and got their sentence reduced it is BS.

I'm sorry, but Goodell is a ****ing *******! He's willing to bend the rules for the large market teams, but won't cut a break for Lynch, reducing his sentence. What a joke!

It was a gun charge. I don't think Goodell tolerates guns period. He doesn't mind guys that smack girls around, but hey when your packing with no intent to use, you get slapped harder than Rihanna did.

Didn't Vick shoot dogs? I guess if it's a gun locked-away in your trunk, it's a heinous crime. But when you use them to kill dogs, among other things, it's 2 extra games.

                    What a joke.

                        Re: Lynch lost his appeal

it really is sad in comparison to Marshall's reduced fine.

However, ML is kind of lucky. he could have been in a lot more trouble with the hit and run if he wasn't so evasive early. and then with the second charge this year, he just kept his mouth shut. He could have been in worse shape.

Let's see how Fred Jackson comes out of this. i have a feeling he's going to get the bills moving in the right direction early. if he can't, then that new line is going to be worse than we thought. Jackson seems to thrive off of scooting through small gaps.

How is it that Goodell gets to judge the appeal of his own decision? I would think the players association would insist on some sort of committee.
