    If Tom Brady goes down...

The Pats do. Belichick got lucky when Cassell turned out to be a surprise. Who do they have behind Brady currently?

    Andrew Walter
Career stats: 1919 yards, 3 TD 16 INT

    Kevin O'Connell:
Tim Graham reports he has lost some reps to an undrafted rookie.

Has Beli-cheat not learned that he needs a quality backup behind Brady???

What if Brady gets injured in the preseason? They have nothing, and I wouldnt be surprised if the Bills swept the mighty pats because of a "genius" coach's idiocy.

    What do you think?

With the offense they have, they could put anyone back at QB and get to 8-8 at least.

What were Cassell's stats going into last year?

What were Brady's stats before Bledsoe got hurt?

if that's the case, why didn't they pick up JP Losman?

Walter will be fine in their system and they will still beat us if we can't figure out a way to muster some offense against them.

you'd think this luck would run out sooner than later, but you know what? everytime i've predicted the end of the annoying patriot run, they stunned me. i predict more of that annoying patriot luck that holds the morally superior bills team behind.

Well, everyone thought they were going to fall apart last year with Cassell.

Kevin O'Connell is the backup. Just because he sat for some reps doesn't meen he isn't. He has consistently been getting the most work behind Brady. He is very talented, and the Pats coaches like him a great deal. It is the reason they haven't brought in a more seasoned player behind him.

Walter is someone who they are taking a flier on. He was a very productive college player (he broke John Elway's career record for TDs in the PAC 10) who fits their system because he is tall and has an plus arm. He was stuck in a terrible situation in Oakland, with the worst OL in the NFL and a offensive system from the 1970's. The Pats are taking a chance that they can rebuild is confidence. If it doesn't work, there is no loss.

Hoyer is destined for the practice squad, at best. I wouldn't be surprised if they only carry 2 QBs this season anyway. They have a 7th round pick, Julian Edelman, who is a former college QB at Kent State who is trying to make the team as a versatile WR, ST'er, RB, QB-type guy. He is having a great start to camp and looks like he has a good shot to make the team. He could serve as an emergency QB.

BTW, this is the might be the best Pats team of the Belichick era. They have re-built their secondary from a weakness to a strength. Their offense may be better than 2007. The only question is pass-rush, but the defense overall looks better and deeper than a year ago. They definitely have a lot more speed on that side of the ball. It looks like they had a strong draft as well.
