Come on jamze... We need positive outlook for the season.... it could happen. We are on our way brother.

We have been so accustomed to watching the Bills fail in their attempts to improve that our first reaction is to throw our hands up and be negative. We should be looking forward to watching this line begin to form and grow together.

I would love nothing more than to be able to have a positive outlook for the season. But I have a hard time believing that the Bills are going to make the playoffs and I will be in Afghanistan for the entire season and the start of next. So excuse me if I'm not too amped right now.

Why should we be looking forward to watching this line "form and begin to grow together"? How many times have we heard that over the past decade?

Last year, the line was supposed to be better due to "cohesion." Now it's supposed to be better with a bunch of rookies and every single player in a new position? What happened to "cohesion"?

In all honesty, it wouldn't surprise me if this line turned out to be good IN TIME. But we don't have time- we play the Patriots, in NE, in a night game, without Lynch, in roughly 5 1/2 weeks. Two rookies, a career back-up starting at C and two tackles in new positions. Realistically, these guys are going to make mistakes, and they're going to dig us into a hole in the process.

Gotta give them time man. We will get a sneak preview over the preseason of what they can and can not do.

I understand that, but that's why I'm not optimistic about this season. We haven't seen them play yet so it's really hard to say if they will or won't be good in time. My initial reaction is that they will be good in time- but I'm concerned about what will happen between now and then.

I have a feeling that this team is going to struggle early and blow some winnable games, then pull off an upset or two later in the season when it's already too late.

If it happens like you stated above ... we can pull the old stand by Bills fan card out and play that one. "Wait till next season.. they will be more experienced and have more help with FA pick ups and Drafting".. It has always worked for me.

                  I dont expect a 16 - 0 season but i expect a better record than 7-9.

Re: The Bills return to Glory Days

In the current AFC, it is difficult enough to make the playoffs. If you ask me, considering these franchises, their coaches, owner, GM, and their commitment to winning year in, year out, with consistency at all positions... The Pats, Steelers, Colts, and in most reasons because their division is weak right now, the Chargers, all seem to be in the mix year in, year out. That leaves two spots open, to many deserving teams. Bills, Jets, Dolphins, Ravens, Tennessee, and the one bad year, one good year Bengals. Thats not mentioning the other, Cardinal-esque possible one year wonders in Jacksonville, Denver, or Cleveland. The AFC is just so tough. If you look at the NFC, there really isn't any consistancy. The Giants were the only playoff team from the previous year to make the playoffs. The suprise SB teams always seem to come from the NFC. Cardinals, Giants, Bears, Seahawks, and Panthers, are the last 5 of 6 SB teams to represent their Conference. They all came from nowhere. The competition in the AFC is just so tough, and to relate this to the thread, a return to glory days won't be so simple, or conistant. Glory days in the AFC, unless you have an A+ organization who spends money, drafts and coaches great, like the 4 AFC teams I listed above... Glory days probably mean playoffs every now and again. I love my Bills, but we have missing links from being one of those A+ organizations.

Hey I'm excited. Nearly optimistic. But, that was borderline a slapstick comedy.
