    Rick Jeanneret's son Mark is the new Play-by-play announcer for Portland

    “Mark Jeanneret’s decision to join our staff as our Director, Communications & Team Services and become the play-by-play voice of the Portland Pirates is an unexpected, and very exciting, opportunity for our business which furthers our ties to Sabres Hockey and its rich and storied history, recognizing the legendary career of Mark’s dad, Rick Jeanneret, the play-by-play voice of the Sabres since 1971,” said Pirates Managing Owner/CEO, Brian Petrovek. “Mark brings over a decade of communications and play-by-play experience with the OHL to our company, our hockey team and to our community, and we’d bet the farm that he already bleeds Sabres blue and gold! Mark’s accomplishments, talent and bright future separated him from the dozens of quality applicants we had to choose from. We are thrilled to welcome Mark, his wife, Suzanne and daughter Mattie to our family and to Portland.”

    we now know who is going to replace RJ when he decides to finally decide to hang up the mic. it's his son which I have been saying all along.

          Sounds like he has excitement and is a bit like his dad. I would be in favor instead of a guy like Sylvester.

              Think he'd like to replace his famous father someday? You bet.

              "My dream is to someday take over for my father when he decides to hang them up," Mark Jeanneret told Sabres Edge friend Dan Hickling in Thursday's editions of the Biddeford (Me.) Journal Tribune. "I'd like to continue the Jeanneret tradition in Buffalo. This is going to be a move that will help me."

                His dad was real screechy when he first started out i've heard.. so im sure after a few thousand rum and cokes..his sons voice will be epic as well!
