I hoping Byrd has a similar impact (OK, same amount, not same kind). We could have had Maybin and Brown.

Yeah, I remember some mocks had the Bills taking Brown in the 1st, I was suprised he dropped to round 2...Learning from Peppers cannot hurt though...Maybin will be learning from Schobel

Brown has done nothing except against the 3rd stringers.

At this point, I'm expecting Chris Ellis to contribute more than Maybin. I'd like to see the FO allow Ellis to play opposite Schobel and see how he does...

Maybin at this point for this season is a lost cause unless he signs by Friday. If he doesn't, then he'll just be an athlete who barely knows the system. Take your Crabtree/less money and enjoy riding the pine.

Placing Ellis on the line in place of Kelsay would make most sense to me. I saw him in the PS game and he looked pretty good. If we toss Ellis in and allow Maybin to compete for that job we might get somewhere. Hopefully once MAybin signs he will speak to several of our under performers on defense and get a better picture how the NFL works. 1st rounder means squat unless you can carry that level of play over to the NFL.

Honestly, he looked pretty bad until the 4th quarter. A lot of the guys he was making plays against probably won't be in the NFL in a couple of weeks. Up until then, I was thinking to myself "thank god we didn't take that guy".
