    Two Buffalo firefighters killed today

I know this isn't football related, but it's something that should be shared and prayers sent throughout...

That's always a damn shame. Just like in Zanesville, Oh a couple a nights ago a policeman and his K-9 partner were shot. The officer was shot once and will be ok I believe, the dog was shot 3 times and still no word on how he will be

just checked for an update. The dog was only shot twice in the neck and chest. he is in critical condition. Apparently it looks like his front legs are paralyzed but has some movement in his back legs. He is being cared for at the Ohio State University Veterinarian Hospital

The officer was treated and released

Heard about this earlier today. The flag at the Dept I work at was put at half mast. Very sad news.

The town of Akron, NY has a fireman's stone it's like a cemetary headstone but it has all the F.D. that are in WNY and the City of Buffalo listed it's on the corner of Hoag and Bloomingdale Ave. in the town of Akron (see map) anyways to make a long story short tonight the Akron F.D. held a memorial for the two firefighters that were killed tonight. the stone is decorated tonight in rememberance of the 2 fallen firefighters.

Actually it's half staff on land.
When I die, please don't let my wife sell my camera equipment for what I told her I paid for it.

The term "half-staff" is commonly used colloquially to refer to half-mast, although military tradition indicates that "half-mast" is generally reserved to usage aboard a ship, where flags are typically flown from masts.[2][3] Not all English-speaking nations observe this distinction

                            Canada
In Canada, the decision to fly the flag at half-mast on federal buildings rests with the Department of Canadian Heritage. It should be noted here that nowhere in that department's protocol is the term "half-staff". The correct term in Canada is always half-mast, as per the Rules For Half-masting the National Flag of Canada. Federally, the national flag of Canada is flown at half-mast to mark the following occasions
