AMHERST, N.Y. — Running back James Starks will miss his senior season at Buffalo because of a shoulder injury, leaving the defending Mid-American Conference champions without their all-time leading rusher.

Coach Turner Gill announced Tuesday that tests revealed Starks has a labral tear in his shoulder that requires surgery. Starks is a fifth-year senior and will not have any college eligibility left.

Huge hit to his draft stock here!

That sucks!!!!! He was going to be a difference maker for that team. The offense is not going to be all that scary...
I hope he heals well and does well in workouts. I'd like to see him get a shot at the NFL.

He's going to be a great value for some team at that point. He's not the speediest back around, but he's got good size and knows how to run.

I dont see him on Buffalo not with Lynch, Jackson, and Omon in the fold already.

He'd be an ideal #2 back next season for some team like a Ray Rice type roll.
