If Edwards fails this year...

Assuming he plays average, showing little to no improvement over last year's numbers, would you want to keep him as a backup in the following years? Would you rather have Fitzpatrick, or someone else?

Since this is a Bills board, I'm going to guess most people will want someone else like Peyton Manning as a backup.

I'd say that if Edwards has similar numbers to last year but doesn't seem to improve, I'd be willing to keep him as a backup. But I'd make sure it was very clear that that would be his role.

I'd start someone like Eli and keep TE as a back up.

if he's willing to play that role and provided his salary numbers are lower than fitzpatrick. they seem to be cut from the same cloth right now. so if he holds his preseason figures, i'd take either or and look for thenext great messiah.

If he plays like he did the last 10 games of the season, I'd like to see him backing up Sam Bradford.
