If it doesnt work, maybe we should fix it

    Seems simple enough.

If it doesn't work, fix it.

Lets look at some at our approach to building a winning team over the past decade:
    • We have not had a single HC that has gone to the SB.
    • We not had a single GM that was on a team that went to the SB.
    • We have perpetually signed mediocre players or players who underperformed here.
    • We have not drafted a single QB that has taken us to the playoffs.
    • We have not traded for an up and coming star.
    • We have repeatedly let a few of our top young talent leave at the end of their rookie contracts.
    • We have repeatedly not resigned our own top free agents.
    • We have repeatedly not taken the top, or even one of the top 3 HC candidates when we had vacancies.
Now, if those actions have consistently given us mediocre results with losing seasons, why should we expect anything different? Seems simple, if what you are doing isn't working, you must change.

If you do what you've always done, you get what you've always got.

Dude no offense but that's not new news. Everyone knows what the prolem is and everyone knows exactly what must happen in order for the new "plan" to go into effect.

Maybe us fans can solve the head coaching problem by making Dick Jauron disappear...

Didn't Donahoe make a Super Bowl with the Steelers?

edit: also, obviously, Levy was on teams that went to Super Bowls....

I also don't think all those bullet points are necessary to determine this teams failure. Lots of teams let their top young talent go or are quiet in FA but still are succesful...our problems lie with two main issues:

            1) Poor drafting
            2) Poor coaching

I agree. Our troubles stem from an old, and increasingly incompetent owner. Ralph needs to get his head out of his *** and hire a GM that has a proven track record. Once we have a legit GM in place, I believe the rest will fall into place. The biggest reason for the demise of this team I can pinpoint to when Bill Pollian went elsewhere, and if we can somehow find a GM like that, I think we're def' headed in the right direction.

                Nope.

Steelers were conference champs in 1995 and 2005, he was on the team in 95 but not the GM, and was fired in 2001.

In not so sure everyone agrees that:

We need a few stars on this team
                  We need a franchise QB
We should keep our top young FA's
We need a GM and/or HC with SB experience

                    :brilliant:

I would be happier with Cowher. I just love his in your face style of coaching.

However, I would not complain about Billick being our coach.

there is one common denominator amongst all Bills fan.. We need a REAL coach

It's actually a bit simpler than that.

We need an owner who won't accept mediocrity.
