Buying Tickets- Forked Thread: The Best and Worst fans of the NHL, 2009 Edition

And besides, it's fun and exciting and enjoyable to go to HSBC or the Ralph, regardless. Yes, winning is more fun, but the fans still get the opportunity to see two major league sports with all their great teams and superstars, enjoy all the tailgating and pregame parties, etc.

If you look at tickets strictly as a $ to wins thing, I think you are missing most of the fun of the whole experience.
Although Jan originally posted this in the Sabres Zone, he makes a very good point about buying tickets. The way these two teams play, tailgating before the games is about the only fun part left. From that perspective, the fans don't seem so dumb for paying for an inferior product.

It doesn't resolve the problem of two franchises that have no motivation to get better, but it does vindicate fans and somewhat explain behavior that seems irrational on the surface.

Bills games are more than going to watch your favorite team lose in the most pathetic ways, it's kind of like getting drunk with all your neighbors before a funeral. It's a community thing.

Fans don't need to be vindicated for buying tickets to see their favorite team, regardless of their record.
