How I think the Bills will use Maybin...

First guy in the DE rotation on either side. He lined up on both sides on and off since he started getting time. Plus, it seems they plan to use him kind of like an OLB. I have seem him dropping into coverage. I guess I like the zone blitz, but I have a small problem with us dropping (into coverage) the guy who might actually be our best pass rusher.

Basically, he is a very versatile player, and he might get as much time on the field as both Kelsey or Schobel if he is the primary backup for both. The fact the Bills want to work Maybin in on the right may have been why they kept Kelsey (who kind of sucks).

Plus, he reminds me of Darryl Talley (despite the fact Tasker said he reminded him of Bennett).

Thoughts?

In 2 preseason games Maybin looked like a guy who will make plays. I was worried about us drafting him, but I feel much better now

Yes I beleive he will see playing time in multiple positions, including some hybrid pass rush OLB.

A good coach would create ways to get a player like Maybin on the field

He reminds me of Jason Taylor.

I say his first year he should just concentrate on getting to the QB. All pass rushing situations he should be out there

Maybin will replace Schobel in a year or 2.

Right now he'll be the pass rushing specialist opposite of him on obvious passing situations.

What FTY said...probably only obvious passing downs to start, maybe more the second half of the season depending on how he's progressing.

One would think the plan is to get him and Schobel on the field together during obvious passing plays. But, not so obviously, I think he will also rotate with Schobel when he needs a blow.
