The Pats pull another amazing trade out of their asses.

The raiders are a mess, and you can bet they will be picking in the top 5 in 2011.

This team is a Super Bowl contender and playoff team year in and year out, but still seems to be able to stockpile high 1st round picks and multiple 2nds when they trade down.

Seymour is a very good player... but to give up what will likely be a top 5 pick?

The Bills, Lions and Raiders could argue for years over who is worse run.

Thats weird.. thats a 2011 first round pick.... i would have thought they would have accepted 2010... so atleast it is in 2 years from now... so we won't have to worry about it until 2011.

I don't know if it makes sense for the Pats to deal a 1st rounder to themselves for a player they already have!

This sucks. The Pats wouldn't have been able to re-sign both Seymour and Wilfork after this year, so they are getting value for him while they can. That pick might be quite valuable, but it hurts not to have him this year. Though he has been banged up in recent seasons, Big Sey is still a force when healthy.

The Pats now only have 6 DL on the team, although Derrick Burgess and Tully Banta Cain will likely play more of a DE-type role when they play 4-3 (which they have been doing more this year. They have a free roster spot, which makes one wonder if they will follow this deal up by getting another DE.
