Sign Dan Gronkowski?

He's been cut from the lions... He's from Amherst and was a fan of the Bills as a child. Oh and BTW, did anyone see the gronkowski sign at the game? His mother was taking pictures of it in front of where i was sitting.

Analysis
Strengths: Looks the part. Good height, and even weight distribution. Good initial pop at the line of scrimmage as a blocker. Good hand placement. Good upper body strength to lock on and has the leg drive to knock defenders off the ball. Good lateral agility and balance to stay square with the defender. Good effort at the second level to block downfield. Uses his hands well to get off the line of scrimmage and into his routes. Presents a big target to the quarterback and knows where the holes in the zone are located. Secure receiver who can take a pop and hang on.


Weaknesses: Lacks the preferred athleticism for the position. Only a short yardage target in the passing game. Slow off the line of scrimmage. Lumbers downfield and struggles to sink his hips and generate any explosion out of his breaks. Lacks the frame to add much more weight.

He is a blocker, and the Bills could use one. They also interviewed him pre draft.

They've already invested time and money into Stupar; they're keeping him over the local kid, as good a story is it would've been.

Stupar's strength is not blocking. He's big and he can catch the football. He and Gronkowski are both pretty big but the similarity ends there.

Exactly... 1 of the functions of PS guys is to provide scout team opposition. We need that diversity in the scout team as well as the player we'd bring up if a 53 TE gets IR'd.

The similarity when saying both are slow and are only good for short passes.

We are set up for the TE position. We need to stop worring about picking up released TE and get Nelson on the field. He should be our primary focus early part of the season.

but there is the practice squad though. why not? we have a couple of WR's on there to go with six on the roster. we have 11 DB's on the roster as else. why not hoard another position? (sarcasm off)

Well I have to say this is completely false. I had a few classes with Dan and graduated a year behind him. While I dont think he has the talent to stay in the nfl a long time Dan is a very very down to earth guy . His brother Rob is another story. He is the exact opposite of Dan, Rob thinks hes the gift to the world however he does have a TON of talent.
