O'Connell was claimed by Detroit earlier this week, so it actually was a trade.

Its Erik Ainge (nephew of Danny Ainge) and he will likely get cut.

Clemens I think may be the more likely choice, if the Jets are looking to shave some money.

his cap number for 2009 is $937,500 and the Jets would trim $535,000 by cutting him.

However, even if the Jets view O'Connell as a #2, do they really want to cut Clemens, who knows the plays, as insurance early on for the rookie Sanchez?

Nice move by Detroit. They used the waiver wire (they had first dibs on him since they finished last last year) to pick up a draft pick
