He'll miss a big kick at some point this season...

But he will make every FG attempt inside the 30 to inflate his stats and make everyone believe he is a good kicker.

Great... and what happened against Cleveland on Monday night. Choke.

Lindell's stats are a product of Buffalo getting into the redzone often and not scoring. Makes for an easy chip shot.

Look at Lindell's splits....

10/15 from 40-49 yards... that is horrible. 1/3 from 50+ .. bad.

He pads his stats with FGs between 30-39 which he went 11/11 and from 20-29 he was 7/8.. more padding.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/splits?playerId=10621

Compare that to Nick Folk splits...

he only had 1 kick between 20-29 yards. 10/11 from 40-49.... 2/2 from 50+

because of the preseason?

I've hated on the guy for a while now. I think he's junk. They don't even use him outside of the 40. What kind of kicker can't be used in the 40-49 yard range. Absolute junk. And he misses a good amount of hte time. He might have a high percentage becauseof the chip shots that Mahdi mentioned, but with a low scoring team, every miss is magnified because its one of only a few chances we get. we need a kicker in the 90% range on this current team.

He kicks in Buffalo.
He kicks badly in Buffalo. Get someone who kicks well in Buffalo.

And I seem to remember Dawson kicking the game winner for Cleveland just moments after Lindell missed the game winner and from a farther distance.

Yeah, it's a valid point, because quite frankly, the way this offense looks, we're going to have serious issues with scoring touchdowns again, and the only way we squeak out a couple more victories is with an awesome kicker.

Man, this season sucks already.

OK, lets trade him to Cleveland for Dawson. :idunno:

I mean, is someone suggesting we grab someone from the local grocery?

I think he's in the middle of the league, and I'm not sure there is anyone better out there at the moment.

And I think we have far bigger problems.

Some dude on my flag football team kicked one from 50 in practice last night.

Its pretty obvious that Lindell is no stud kicker, but his long-distance stats are definitely not nearly as good as kickers who kick in domes consistently. We have one of the windiest, coldest stadiums in the NFL and it would be ridiculous to not admit that his affects long-distance kicks and the stats pertaining to them.

actually, I changed my mind, I think Lindell will go 4 for 4 in the opener, so we'll only lose 56-12

Phil Dawson kicks in Cleveland which is also a bad weather stadium.

7/8 from 40-49 yards.

I dont question Lindell's kicking ability. He just chokes under pressure.

interesting. the real stat would be to find out what the stats are in domes vs. in bad conditions, but that would be more work than i care to do haha

last couple seasons Fancy I has missed in September, in the middle of a game from not that far out. So that is contradictory to his:

1. good inside the 40
2. its only bad weather that makes him hiss
3. that its only during pressure situations.

To rip off Forrest gump, lindell is truly a box of chocolates and i never know what to expect when he lines up.

To his credit he nailed that washington kick from 52 yards out before gibbs called the to he didn't have. and i was just as nervous 15 yards closer that he was still going to miss.

who/what is Fancy I? is that a jab at his named spelled Rian?

Lindell is money inside 40. Thats not arguable. Outside 40? Ya hes not nearly as good as others, but who are we gonna get?

How does a kicker pad his stats? Just curious.

When his offense routinely stalls inside the 20 and results in chip shot FGs.

I think we are all still sore from wide right. Bills fans will trust no kicker other than Steve Christie.

A. Kicking FG's is the least of our worries. At the moment.

B. I thought preseason didn't matter :laughter: At least thats what I keep hearing around here

Well our stumbling and bumbling offense is actually going to have to get us into FG position before we can hate on Lindell...

Don't forget the two kicks Dawson made in 07 against Buffalo in the 8-0 barnburner.

This thread is hilarious.

You shouldn't rely on your kicker to win games for you. Last year, we didn't score any TD's and relied on Lindell for our most of our scoring. Sorry, but I don't put any of the blame on him.

Your in the red zone (10 yards or less) and you have 3 tries to get 6 but fail. ROFL!!!

Worse, we were inside the 5 so many times and never punched it in. Lynch was never the prob here. That line was horrible and embarrassing.

There were several times we were at the 20 and ran it so well it was puzzling as *****. Hell, I can recall 4 times this happened. Our RB's were never touched on any of these scores it's scary.

Bottom line... every week in the NFL a FG decides a game... Lindell is not a kicker you want making that decision.

I've been worried about Lindell ever since he ruined my ****ing night at the Ralph on Monday night.
