Nobody messes with Tom Coughlin anymore

Everyone wanted his head in NY. The two years prior, people wanted his ass fired.

Point is, all it takes is a magical run.

Jauron gets us to the playoffs, i guarantee he'll be here for a few more years.

I know Coughlin has a better record, career wise.

But he was wanted out of NY by every fan in NY. Now? Not even a thought.

If the Bills win the Super Bowl this year I'm fine with Jauron remaining the head coach for a while.

If Jauron, gets us a WC, he will be here for a few years.

Am I drunk, or did I read this right? "Every we gets us to playoffs".

ok, after deciphering this, and seeing that the Giants have been my # 2 team for about 35 years, please don't say "every fan". I liked him from the get go. Apparently I was right to stand by him.

coughlin took an expansion team and made them playoff bound out the gate....jauron got lucky once.

coughlin was hated by his players as pushing them too hard...he adjusted for his players and made it work. Jauron never adjusts to anything and life is a picnic for these players. They get hurt, he's ok with it...he won't rush them back.

very different coaches. in my mind though, if jauron wins a superbowl....i'm all with naming the airport after him. but i find the chances pretty slim.

Re: Nobody messes with Tom Coughlin anymore

Before the Giants won the Super Bowl in 2007 they made the playoffs in 2006 and 2005.. Coughlin was a lot closer to knocking on the door of a Super Bowl than Jauron currently is

No comparison between Jauron and Coughlin. This is a stupid thread. Coughlin had a winning history prior to coming to the Giants. He's also very strict coming from the Parcells coaching tree. Jauron has a losing history and is Mr. Cakewalk on these players.

one other thing i forgot to put out there, is that this is the difference between giant fans who expect the playoffs and know that that isn't enough vs bills fans who think if we can get to 9-7 this year and still miss the playoffs that we are steadily improving.

Re: Nobody messes with Tom Coughlin anymore

Problem with Dick is that he likes to say he's happy with this and that. we love our players, we love how they do this and that and then retracts after a game and says "we need to get better" .

BB hardly ever praises his players. You should never be satisfied. His players are never satisfied. Even when they were playing to go undefeated, they practiced their hearts out for the next game.Going undefeaated wasn't their goal. it was the sb.

Our players admitted they got complacent after winning a string of games lst year. I don't care if you go 16-0 , you never get complacent until you win the sb. dick is too laid back. coughlin was too harsh but seems to me he's in BB mode.

It's a lot easier to learn not to be an ass to everyone than it is to learn how to coach.
