Pasadena officials remain committed to attracting NFL team

LOS ANGELES (May 22, 2003 8:15 p.m. EDT) - While officials in Pasadena are disappointed the NFL voted to spend up to $10 million looking into the viability of a stadium at another local venue, they're not giving up their quest to attract a team.

"We're in this for the long pull," Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard said Thursday.

"I remain very hopeful," said John Moag, the Baltimore investment banker hired by the Rose Bowl Operating Co. to lead its bid. "Some lucky owner is going to do very well by Pasadena.

"Hopefully the league responds to our offer. It's up to them to respond. That offer stands."

Speaking from his office in Baltimore, Moag said he didn't know when that might happen.
