Ravens' 2 tight ends could be double trouble for foes

Teaming Heap, T. Jones adds to run, pass options
The Ravens are hoping their two-tight end sets can double the confusion for defenses.

By expanding the roles of Todd Heap and Terry Jones in these offseason camps, the Ravens are as much of a threat to run the ball as pass it, creating some tough matchups - and mismatches - for opponents. When both of them are in the huddle, the Ravens could come out in a compact run formation just as easily as a spread-out, four-receiver look.

In the chess game of offense-defense, the combination of Heap and Jones provides an edge for the Ravens.

"That could be one of true strengths of our team," Ravens coach Brian Billick said. "Because of our versatility, we could be in two tight ends a great deal."
