Let's hope it doesn't take him another 44 games to make another big play.

Who had the deep coverage on the Winslow TD? Looked like Whitner to me. He still sucks.

whitner will never do right by a certain group on here, thats just the way it is.

LOL... that was a gift... Whitner was BEAT on the comeback and Leftwich was hit and it fluttered over the receiver to WHitner who was 5 yards behind him (late as usual).. with none one in front of him...

GIFT all the way... had nothing to do with great play from Whitner... Ironically had he been in better coverage it was incomplete. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes.

Whitner had a great game today and did pretty well last week too. Even if he didnt have that INT he'd have a fourth down stop and many other great tackles today. he was all over the place.

Whitner had a stellar game. Even haters should admit it this week. That's two in a row, IMO.

I am glad for Whitner. He took last weeks loss really hard. He is one of the good guys.

He probably had his best game of his pro career, but he needs to carry it over and do that consistently. He looked excellent coming off the side on blitz packages as well, nice job jumping that route for an interception and touchdown. Like Novacane said, we can't wait till 2012 for Whitner to make another play.

So far , he's played like a 1st rd. pick this season. Let's see what he can do with a gunslinging Brees.

If he has a big game against Brees, he gets major brownie points from me. Brees is the best QB in the NFL right now and it wouldn't surprise me to see the Saints reppin the NFC in the Super Bowl.

I was wondering if someone was going to mention that big fourth down stop.

I couldn't agree more. Why can't we just congratulate Donte on a great game, and enjoy it?

Why? Are we moving him back to SS for another 3 years?

The guy is coming to his own at FS and looked very good out there. For the second week in a row he stopped a few big plays when a CB or LB got beat. These are plays that would have gone to the house last year. Like you said, at this point his play has to be about consistency.

I started a thread calling Donte out, I'll give him props for his play yesterday, he played like the 8th overall pick should play. If he has a game even remotely similar against the Saints I'll gladly bump my own thread and proceed to eat crow.
